In addition to agreeing to disagree agreeably, we agree wholeheartedly about the growing problem of principle-free personas in politics and journalism. Outraged to be dumped for their lack of professionalism and partisanship, too many journos are now leaping from the majors to independent platforms (ahem, substack) and confirming every accusation against them. You may think, ah, that’s just a partisan view from the other side, but it ain’t so. The problem is that it discredits the entire profession.
Luckily, politicians have already so discredited themselves, we need little further evidence.
