"it’s no surprise that Ayatollah Khamenei felt a need to respond."

The Mullahs Had No Choice! Respond (IMO knowing it wouldn't work) OR be seen as The Weak Horse (being perceived as Weak in that neighborhood Never works out well) , unable to defend their allies. Besides in their minds They Are on Allah's side. So they had to.

Ref Iran - as always, Danielle, you hit it on the nail!!!

Can you, kindly, tell your President to stop trying to handicap Israel at every opportunity?

Another fine report. Thanks Danielle. "Peace in our time" is a selfish thing. We should work to resolve this so our children and grandchildren don't have to. Iran is weak as you say and the time is now.

Clearly, the US should be striking Iran’s nuclear program which is well within our capability. The problem continues to be the willful blindness of the Biden Administration and its unwillingness to abandon its policy of appeasing and enabling Iran. The mystery is how anyone

could see current policy as in American interests. If the motivation is election considerations, it seems to me that far from being helpful in getting Harris elected, the de escalation is a weakening of America on the world stage that cannot possibly impress voters. A better strategy would be to “take the win” by hitting Iran hard (now that the consequences for

Israel from Hezbollah is lessened) and be able to trumpet real foreign policy success. Until this happens the Biden Administration looks confused and impotent, not a good look for a Democrat win in the election.
