Dave Smith: Ben Shapiro’s Entire Career Is Built on Hypocrisy
1. His Guest Choices. He can bring on Whoever he wants. The Problem is there is Never any Push Back on what The guest says no matter how...well Insane it is. Leads me to ask does he Agree with (in this case) Dave Smith?
2. With 1 exception (Piers Morgan) he never goes on a program where he will be confronted in any way.
I wish I could say that my concerns are limited to the ones you express. Tucker has chosen a terrible path, and I feel sad for him. On Harvard, this is the point I try to make. TDS puts these elite universities in a place where they can't do the right thing because to do so would be to acquiesce to the Trump presidency. And it's more important to hate on Jews (and Asians) and lose research money than it Is to mend your ways.
I don't know What Happened. he only thing I can come up with is when he left Fox he decided everything he knew//believed/said was Wrong. And he had to go the opposite way. That he has so many people that follow him, is a concern. Questioning what he says (antisemitism/isolationism) to these people WILL get you In Trouble.
Fortunately being a Conservative in Mn., I used to being In Trouble. :-)
One of the things Donald Trump has done, is ever since he rode down the escalator is strip the mask off Our Betters. The thing is for Big Education, Big Media, The Party is Over. We no longer NEED Them. Its all because of That Little Silicon Chip (for better or worse), Has Changed Everything.
"And it's more important to hate on Jews (and Asians) and lose research money than it Is to mend your ways."
Today’s college meltdown story, courtesy of the Chronicle of Higher Education, comes from Sonoma State University in northern California, whose 35 percent decline in enrollment since 2015 has forced severe budget cuts, including its entire athletics program. While the Chronicle focuses on the athletics part of the story, the real news is that Sonoma State will shutter 23 academic majors and masters’ programs, including bachelor’s degrees in earth and environmental sciences, geology and physics, along with master’s degrees in English, Spanish and history, and . . . women’s and gender studies.” In all, 46 tenured and adjunct faculty will be laid off.
Left or right, antiSemitism is a gateway to stoke fear and resentment in the villagers so they can bring out their torches and pitchforks. It is a tool for political power. For the most party, such uprisings have not worked in America — though the left never gives up. Each generation thinks they are on to a new-new thing that will lead to a more just, peaceful, verdant world.
The fact that antiSemitism works on college campuses should not surprise as campuses domicile some of the least open minded, intellectually inexperienced, and insecure people. Think about yourself when you were a college student — was your insecurity meter over 10.0? Those faculty were all very insecure — in need of answers and distractions to vent their frustrations and form a clique of people from which they could draw security, power.
I believe the right wing antiSemites are few, rather absurd, and intellectually deficient and often, lazy (Candace Owen’s?). Take them seriously, but slap them down. They are simply grabbing the easiest source of views and clicks for their social media fame. However, the left (as always) is actually more dangerous. The left is about seizing power by promising social injustice. They have many demons to blame, wealth, inequity, corporations, other nations, the Military-Industrial complex, the system, racism, slavery, industrial pollution, the Man, past foreign policy,…, those over 30, and … the Jews.
The left seek to impose their fairytale world in a grand communitarian solution to all problems which they leave to be ultimately defined and decided by expertise and science — the real science. They produced Stalin, Hitler, Mao and a panoply of miscreants. Once in power, they use the power of the state to suppress any doubt — with violence as their ‘go to’ tool.
Harvard and college campuses in general have a fertile population of unformed, insecure minds to manipulate. And these represent the greatest threat if their political power to disrupt, produce chaos, and form power bases to undermine institutions is allowed to gel. The left promises utopia — a dream of what is possible. The right promises revenge — something that burns out with time.
The antiSemites on the right are often those 5 or 7 pasty faced, alienated misfits, with bad acne, holding Nazi flags and drawing fear from the LARPing in Nazi regalia and jackboots. They are pathetic.
The left are much more appealing. They play word games and think Tim Walz will attract white male voters. They work the edges while stirring up trouble. They create a crisis and a solution, and the crisis never quite goes away. George Floyd died of drug overdose, not police brutality, but the left got to burn down Minneapolis and created a national catharsis. Same with the 99%. They keep hoping that sooner or later the left will pull the trigger and the whole system will collapse — like the insurrection in Petrograd. This is why they take up Palestine, Hamas, the West Bank, and the trials and tribulations of an abused population — that is covered in a narrative written and directed by criminal organizations. It is way to undermine the legitimacy of the government (see Ben Cohen at the Kennedy hearing yesterday). They simply want to pull it all down and implement real socialism — and if hatred of someone or something helps stir fear, they use it. Nothing quite energizes a political movement like: 1. Emotion, 2. Cash, 3. Hate, 4. Over-reaction by authority, 5. More Hate, 6. Violence by either side, 7. Weapons.
Anyone who thinks that socialism is still a model for society has not been paying attention to the last 150 years. What is more, once in power and their schemes go awry, they need scapegoats. I expect at some point we will hear the California super train is failing because of the Jews. Large scale projects are the hallmark of the left that need a way (green energy) to distract and fan fears (global warming) from what they are actually doing: seizing power to impose their will. And antiSemitism in the hands of these folks turns very, very nasty quickly. See Harvard. What we are watching is a return of the Students for A Democratic Society redux and dressed in Justice for Gaza.
Soooo, I am generally inclined to agree with the picture you paint, and this is the argument that Marc regularly makes about antisemitism. But I am a conservative, and my ability to police the other side is limited. I can call them out and highlight their shameful antisemitism, and often do. But on my side of the aisle, where I hope I might have a little more sway (though that's really in doubt these days :)), I am honor bound to call it out. And while I relegated right wing antisemitism to the Mom Basement for most of last year, this year, I am seeing it enter the halls of right wing power in ways that truly concern me. Yes, I write off Trump's grotesque hat tip to America First, because I know that he doesn't know what it means. But he also doesn't care when told. But the whole neocon dogwhistle cannot be written off. There are precisely zero neocons in his administration, precious few in Congress, and his desire to(and that of his staff) to single out this group in his speech in the Middle East is what it looks like. Sigh.
Good points all! But it is the left we must watch as they are more subtle, more agile, able to disguise, … .
Trump’s America First is his adaptation of the Trump Organization. He wants the buyer happy, himself happy, his lenders happy, his family happy, and everyone wanting a piece of the deal, or condo, or whatever. Such a deal. But act fast. Play golf, not terrorism.
His new Middle East policy fits this to a “T”. He wants to make Gaza truly free, the Singapore of the Middle East, a booming Hong Kong, with the rich visiting, good jobs for the locals, hotels, restaurants, prosperity. He doesn’t care how or who runs it, so long as people are free to transact business. Same with his Make Syria Great Again. Trump truly believes it. His biggest impediment: the criminal Mullahs.
He tried it on Kim Jong Un and it didn’t take. But Kim is afraid of openness. Trump sells that first. Be open, do business, make everyone more prosperous. Happy!
